i hate the whole sue-for-anything culture, it really grinds my gears.
fair enough, they released a patch that caused a lot of glitches, they're not just going to leave it like that. there'll be a new patch soon.
its not as if they just shove all the bugs under the carpet and hope they'll go away (coughcough1080ifiascocoughcough)
its like the german kid playing unreal...
now where did i put that video?!
I would be pissed if this update 'bricked' my console like others are reporting it has, Im sure anyone would but it wouldnt go any further unless M$ refused to do anything about it
Do you have a problem with a company breaking your stuff and then trying to charge you to fox it?
Sometimes this is the only way and I think in this case if MS are refusing to repair for free then you either have to pay, bin the 360 or sue them.
What would you do?
i say good luck to the bloke sueing ms.
his console died after applyin an update from ms, i think hes within his rights when charged to fix it.
I have to agree. For the most part it is true that I live in sue happy culture but if Microsoft bricks your console they should have to fix it.
Having had this update "brick" my console, I've got to agree with these guys, 11 months 27 days of hassle free gaming (I mean not a single crash that I can ever recall). Patch is released and it breaks my console aftera bout 2 hours of usage.
My theory is this update has changed the GPU firmware/drivers to add 1080p support, but its also done something else to it, like increasing the clock speeds slightly and its cooking machines where the thermal compound is not applied properly or just where the chip itself can't cope.
I think that this guy should stand up for himself, I'd be bloody furious if they bricked my machine (well c'mon all fingers do point to the update) and wanted to charge me to fix it. No way.
<should add, I dont own a 360>
If people start suing MS, thats bad news for the rest of us, as it might put them off venturing into the console market again, or providing updates for their products.
But they should offer to fix any problems for free.
I think that's all most people want. If it were me I'd be satisfied if Microsoft just fixed the problem. Of course I doubt one little lawsuit would have a big effect. What seems like allot of money really is just a drop in the bucket for Microsoft.
Microsoft released a patch that obviously wasn't suitably tested, which 'broke' some consoles. They should obviously fix it for free, and I don't blame anyone for trying to get fair treatment in such a scenario.
I dont see whats wrong with sueing them, they made a product that runs by lucky chance its almost 50/50 your xbox will go 1 month without chopping up a disc blowing its av ports or get a patch that is like some mini software EMP.
My consoles lights stopped working and the av input doesnt work on any av cable (new, used or second party) and they say i have to pay $140 to get it repaired... Someone please make a site witha big petition for every one who wants to sign and get a complete prduct refund. every other company does. It doesnt work, period. Refund.
