Sapphire working on dual-GPU X1950 board

Since the rebirth of multi-GPU technology, we've seen but a handful of graphics boards with two GPUs on them. However, trends say at least one AIB partner will make one for each GPU generation.

It's the turn of the X1900 series, then. Sapphire's stepped up as the company to engineer a dual-GPU X1950 Pro.

I have checked the requirements for Office 2007 running under Vista and I am not certain that anything less than 16 graphic cores will do the trick...

i am really surprised that no one has coined the term quadfire for it yet. in my opinion cause i think i just made it up but i am not sure, that is much easier to say quadfire than quad crossfire

Do you guys reckon this will perform better or worse than 2 separate cards in crossfire? It would be interesting to see.
    With love and many thanks,

They'll use the same internal link as new CrossFire cards, I suspect. So, providing clocks are the same, I'd say... exactly the same.

So will this actually give you a better bang/buck than competing "normal" cards, ex. 8800?

i'm happier to hear that amd-ati would have a new model to replace current x1950xtx.
Galaxy had a 7900gt masterpiece which performs a little better than the 7950gx2. I couldn't find any for sale and it's too late that the 8800 series are out.
