Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games also took the time over on the official Gears forums to mention that some bug fixes would be issued before the delivery of the new maps.

Hopefully they're gonna stop people run-shooting (glitching the game) too, which really peevs me off

Fair play to epic on getting sponsorship and getting the customers free maps...I like it

More maps for me to get pwned on

Cool, I'm not the best at it (although I did own all on the multiplayer map with the Hammer of Dawn weapon last time I played it ) some new maps would be great.

You know what us gamers are like though, we're never happy! Watch the complaints pour in!

The patch for Gears of War is now available and you'll be prompted to update your game when you next load it up.

The new maps are still scheduled for release tomorrow.

The new multiplayer maps are also now available, as is an introductory video and a theme.

All available for free on Xbox Live Marketplace.

I've given the two maps a good go and I find Old Bones to be fantastic, very tactical. But Raven Down just isn't for me, it's very small and too frantic.
