these are run by humans, they are behaving like humans, the 'pack' or 'heard' that works for each company gangs up against the other. This is so very very normal.

Pressure is on, now that Sony are so far behind.
We'll probably see the true Sony as opposed to the nice one when everything is going their way.

Only a very tiny minority of rabid fanboys really care about which company has the "upper hand". The vast majority of people aren't going to be swayed by corporate argument. If one of them just uses a positive marketing strategy and says "Right, we're not taking part in this war of words any more - we're letting the system do the talking, prepare to be impressed", then that's far more professional and positive than whining about the negative points of the other company and/or their product.
Whether Sony or MS are correct or not is irrelevant - their marketing department needs to do their job properly and spend their time on finding good reasons for people to buy their product rather than wasting time on schoolyard tit-for-tat fights.
