SCSI drives like this are aimed at a market that demand reliability and perfomance. They also have more money than most home users. It will take a while before this sort of thing filters down to meer mortal level, i wouldn't like to guess how long it will take!
the noise is another big factor - home market has been sitting on 7,200 rpm for a decade now, dispite server market having 10k and up the whole time. i doubt it'll ever make its way down..

I think the point he is making is that he would like one ina laptop :)
Also that 15k drive looks niiiiiiiiiiice, better than two 150 raptors in raid 0 (or not whatever)???
By the time this kinda performance filters down (if ever) I'm guessing solid state will rule. At first you'll get a machine with flash memory for OS and whatnot, and a traditional hard drive for conventional storage.
