I assume you're fine downloading episodes of your favourite show, and small software packages... Piracy will always win tbh though so I don't really see the point of them breaching our privacy for monitoring.

Nah not nomore tbh. I used to use Protowall, preferred it over peerguardian for some reason. Nothin wills top you getting caught if they really go out to get you. it jsut puts you in a false sense of security in my opinion.

Some companys dont like you downloading tv shows and tbh thats all i really do. I like to be ahead in tv shows as they come out alot quicker in america. I see no harm in it but its all down to money at the end of the day. They can watc u through mirc yes. They track the uplaoder and then the downloadee's (if thats a word) from that uploader

Depends how you define safe, can someone see you IP, find out who you are and where you live? Yup. Can they really do anything about it, other than say nasty things. Nope.

Would I still have uTorrent installed if I got one of those letters? Probably not.

If you could download your favourite programs, tv shows and movies at high speed for a realistic price then people would jump at the chance to pay for it. I feel its a real failing of media companies not recognise these new opportunities. They should be listening to the customers and giving them what they want instead of sue'ing everyone amd forcing people to buy hard copies of media at inflatedprices.

It's taken years for the record industry to pull its finger out and start offering online downloads, people have been wanting it for years. But even now there is along way to go, In order to fill a 2GB IPod with legitimate mp3's you would have to pay thousends of pounds. People need to see that they are getting good value for money when they are simply downloading a couple of Mb music lasting a few minutes.

The bottom line is that people want to watch whatever they like, whenever they want, no matter where its produced. As soon as someone develops the technology and balls to do this legally then it will be hugely successful. But until then people will always find other ways.
