I thought they would always lose some of their bottom line initial while it cost so much to build, they will make a profit in the end.

I read on the INQ that Sony could possibly be losing $200 a console. Where as the 360 actually makes $75.

In the end the playstation will make money once consoles are in homes and games start selling.

Traditionally consoles have been loss leaders, but the 360 has shown that you can have your cake and eat it.

Wonder what affect the HD wars will have on the consoles and corporation profits.

The inquirer is known for posting vague rumours as facts, but sony are certainly losing quite a bit of money per console.
I had read elsewhere that microsoft would only start making money off the actual 360 console in a few months.

    Anyway, I'm suprised it's only a 5% drop.

I had a feeling Sony would struggle to compete with Nintendo when they released their Wii, I dont really have high hopes for the PS3 (on launch), hopefully the price will be more affordable in a year or two..

GAME may be offering an interest free offer! Mind you, I don't think I'd be up for paying that amount on launch. I'm gonna see how it goes over the next six months.
