The results speak for themselves. High performance doesn't necessarily have to be limited to the Athlon 64 or top-end Pentium 4 CPUs. What's more, it can be achieved with a £70 CPU.

Well, I'm extremely happy with mine. Even on average quality cooling I've managed to boot mine at 2.5GHz. Ok, so it wasn't stable, but it was after only running it for a few hours...
If I can get better cooling I'm certain that I can raise the volts a bit more and get it to 2.5GHz stable.
9.5/10 from me! :D
I think we need to Prometiaize this CPU :)
Lend me the money mate, and I'd be happy to!! :D :PQuote:

Oh well, you have the chip too now so I'm of no use... :(
;)
from reading their forums, it looks like they're out of stock and trying to source the latest steppings (2.7GHz@1.7v  )
Nice review!
Been thinking about my next upgrade... I think Ive just found it! :D
Same here.
I'm well aware of how the XP-M 2500+ Compares to other mobile CPU's and other athlon XP's but i have yet to see a review where the athlon xp-m is compared to its desktop 2500+ barton brother, both at their stock speeds which one would be faster? then when you take the athlon xp-m and make it equal to the barton in multi and FSB which one is faster out of those? thats what matters to me, if the athlon XP-m can perform better at stock and when equaled out with a Desktop XP 2500+ then I will definately get it. Also, what temps are you getting running it at stock speed?
Both at stock speeds, they would be the same speed....... but the Mobile will run cooler as it's stock voltage is only 1.45v.
Overclocking, theoritically, the Mobile should win easily as it's cooler and has a guaranteed unlocked multiplier.
Haven't temp checked it at stock speed! Got late 30's idling with crappy fan and no flow through crappy case at 12.5x180MHz iirc.
if these run cooler
any chance of runnin them passivly :)
If you underclocked them then yes....
My 2500 XP-M is on it's way from over the pond so i'll tell ya how i get on soon :)
