That is some impressive scaling.
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
Why cant Hexus ever review demanding games such as crysis? what about newer games like Arma 2 and gta4 that are demanding?
My 260gtx can play most of the above games mentioned in this review with no problem. people who are looking to buy this card are people wanting to know how it handles demanding games.
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
In "HEXUS.bang4buck":
BFG GeForce GTX 285 1,024MB = £250
BFG GeForce GTX 295 1,792MB = £346
so BFG GeForce GTX 295 1,792MB (x2 in SLI) = £500 (2x £250) ?????
It should be BFG GeForce GTX 295 1,792MB (x2 in SLI) = £692 (2x £346).
And then HEXUS.bang4buck score at 2,560x1,600 for BFG GeForce GTX 295 1,792MB (x2 in SLI) 395.23/692= 0.571
or ther should be BFG GeForce GTX 285 1,024MB (x2 in SLI) in title.
And I'm waiting for tests in DX11 :>

Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
This review is next to useless, need to wait for better more detailed benchmarks.
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
yeah dropping Crysis seems mental, I mean on one hand I understand that it's something of a poorly optimised anomaly but surely that is what makes it so relevant in benchmarking. I mean who really cares about an extra 40 fps on top of 80 fps playing Grid or Call of Duty, we want to know if you can play Crysis with a lot of AA and AF and never dip below 40 fps.
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
So basically a 4870x2 is about the same speed as a 5870, is cheaper, and is available now? Nice.............
Just checked and a 4870x2 is about £40 cheaper on Scan.
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends

Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
exactly. whats going on hexus?? they are sucking big time when reviewing things like this
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
Er.. this is just an extention of the full review - it even says to see the other review for details. This is just testing crossfire.
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
my bad i retract my statement, BUT even the first review was nothing compared to the depth of anandtech
Re: Reviews - Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 in CrossFireX: say hello to our little friends
I have a habit of jumping in feet first and buying one on the day of release but this time around I'm holding back. When I bought my recent cards 4890 OC the price dropped £40.00 within the first 3.5 weeks of the release. Therefore, £310.00 for a card which I think will drop to £230.00 before the end ofthe year possibly £220.00.
I'm waiting to get two of these babies in my next upgrade to and X58.

I see that, but I didn't exactly fall off my seat when I looked at the benchmarks.
