My honest opinion is that its pretty crap tbh ... for once i like the single player better than the MP
... i mean it might grow on me but for the moment

    im pretty unimpressed.

Man, the PC multiplayer, and for some single player, they messed up big time, all the work dumped on the cpu and the gpu never seems to use more than the lower power saving settings on the newer cards out there. There is stuttering and then there is Black Ops.

The game is alright, playing the 360 version atm due to the PC version being crippled at the best of times. No idea on when Treyarch are planning the PC fixes but all the issues that plague the PC version are few and far between on the console versions. So glad I got the PC version at a discounted price and the 360 version I used some vouchers I had so I ended up paying around £10 total towards the console version.

If anyone is looking to play this now or in the next few days/weekend, then I would head for the console version. I can only state about the PC and the 360 versions. Not played the PS3 version.

Re: Reviews - Call Of Duty: Black Ops - PC, Xbox 360, PS3

Problems seem to be with PC and PS3 versions.

Anyone who buys this must know the type of game it is so I can't see why there's real complaints about the gameplay, it's just typical Call Of Duty. Still, I had a great time playing it.

    Multiplayer next!

I got it on the 360 (to play with all my mates) and absoloutley love it
I must admit I am a COD nerd - trying to rank up faster and have a better k/d than my friends, playing in a large party with all of them is what makes it awesome.

It is also very well balanced with no huge annoyances like One man army and grenade launchers.

    I am thoroughly enjoying it

As you say, if you've played MW2 then this is pretty much the same boat. It's a decent game and since I've gone over to the 360 version it's a much more pleasant experience. The PC version is dire right now and almost unplayable.

Still to do the single player but the multiplayer I am liking it so far. Nice to see the weapon attachments left to your choices, means every time you come across someone you have no idea what they are using. Maps are good too, liking some of them, there are a few that are a little too small or too big when playing ground war games. Even with 18 players you can spend times seeing no one. Other than that though, I don't see why people are complaining about graphics, with a game like this, the speed you are running around and have to react to other players, if you are taking time to admire the graphics then you are playing it wrong xD

Too much is put on graphics these days, everyone wants a bit of eye candy and if they don't get it, they aren't happy and will slag a game. At the end of the day graphics are always secondary to gameplay.

enjoying it so far just finding some parts very frustrating think im only up to mission 4 maybe 5, but started on veteren as i did on mw and mw2. just find the challenge more enjoyable albeit arghhhh moments,

not sure on the multiplayer so far, think it may be the maps, maybe they will grow on me, looking forward to playing some different gamemodes tho just need to level up to play them doh.

its bloody laggy on my system, everyone else is moaning aswell so not just me.

like the points/xp/challenges... thats it. everything else is rubbish!! (not played SP, never do with COD)

edit: played SP, enjoying it, rather fun

MP i believe steam have released an update, i lowered the settings one notch aswell and its lag free... much much better!

+1 here - I just finished the XBox360 single player and I thought it was a cracking story*. In fact - and I know this'll get me flamed - I actually think that (judging solely on the single player) that this is a better game than the much feted Modern Warfare 2.

A couple of minutes ago I also dived (briefly) into the multiplayer "training mode" under the impression, thanks to a review elsewhere, that this was just me+AI's running around the MP maps. So I was well surprised to find that it was a proper MP - with real humans! Despite me being cannon fodder (as usual!) it was also quite good.

(* not that impressed with the Khe Sanh part though - reminded me far too much of a similar looking section in CoD:WaW)

Speaking of WaW, really nice to see Gary Oldman back doing old stager Victor Reznov - is Reznov Treyarch's equivalent to IW's Captain Price?

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
