I stand corrected on the 5970 and 5850x2. However, the benchmarks I've seen paint the 5970 as being far more similar to the 5850CF than the 5870CF. It's also priced closer to two 5850, in line with it's performance.
So what are people expecting with the 5850x2? Two nerfed 5850 with the equivalent number of cores, but performing like two 5830 or 5770 and priced accordingly?
If it's basically two fully powered 5850, you'd end up with something that performs similar to the 5970 (maybe a bit better) and priced similarly (in accordance to the performance differences). Would there be much point to that?

This video card is quite disturbing regarding the temperatures, power draw and price. nVIDIA truly is insane, but of course we knew that with their CEO swinging on the balls of Apple anyway.
