Nice review, covers most points of the new expansion (excluding heroics and raids) and does so with good accuracy.
Like the old days, Crowd Control get backs to game, i luv it.
Cataclysm is definately the expansion that the game needed, by re-doing the old world instead of just adding another new area, it's given the old players a reason to create a new character and keep playing.

Err, there is no such requirement, in fact, newcomers are welcome, more than ever in Cataclysm.
OK, I may be a WoW "fanboi" or whatever you want to call me, but levelling has been made so much easier now that you can play through as a newcomer and be at the same level as the rest of us in a mere few weeks. At least that will last until we start raiding, but even then there are ways to catch up by running heroics as you can then buy the previously highest raiding rewards.
Definitely, the leveling speed is now about 120 hours down from 200 for a casual player. Not to mention many of the changes and shiny new stuff is in the leveling zones.
For example, the Plantw vs Zombie tie in game (which I completely forgot about oops) is in a level 20 quest zone
