Re: Reviews - ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB graphics card reviewed and rated

a great review , as allways

    so in summary compared to the 6900;

    its quitier

    its just as power hungry

    its slower.

and the 6950CF is faster in some games, and the gtx 570 is faster in alot of games.

just 1 personal request if i may

could you maybe add a compare to the 6850CF / GTX 460sli?

Re: Reviews - ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB graphics card reviewed and rated

Why are you always so conservative in your GPU overclocking?

@ Jack: 460 SLI is faster than a GTX 580, although not by much - to give you a rough idea of performance.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Because TPU and others killed their cards at 1.2v?

After talking to several other reviewers, this does not seem to be an isolated case, and many of them have killed their cards with similar testing, which is far from being an extreme test.

Another great review from Hexus. TBH,I was expecting the GTX590 to be faster than an HD6990 but it seems this is not the case!!

Maybe it'll drive the 580's price down then I can go grovelling back to nvidia after the huge mistake of buying the HD5850... Great card awful drivers...

Re: Reviews - ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB graphics card reviewed and rated

    Ahem.

    Folding stats?

I'll let you off this time as it's probably not the best place to be introducing the metric. When is though... Would have been nice if you'd beaten Bit-Tech to it, as you did with the overclocking.

Any chance of a folding supertest with a roundup of all the (GPU) cards and their performance?

Otherwise, a well structured and reasoned article. Many thanks!

I mean in general. Hexus tend to be quite conservative, IMO, when it comes to OC'ing components - especially GPU's.

Benching 13 cards over these games has taken over my life recently. Rest assured, I am looking into this

interestingly - only TPU have said they blew up the card - no evidence of `others` actually

Re: Reviews - ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB graphics card reviewed and rated

Yeah but GPU's are a lot more volatile than CPU's when it comes to overclocking, especially when voltages are brought into it.

It wasn't just TPU who killed theirs btw, check out this video

    http://www.sweclockers.com/nyhet/137...boven-i-dramat

And some reviewer on another site said they killed two 590's as well without overclocking. If Tarinder had killed this due to overclocking, what then? It doesn't look like there are many around given the lack of sli reviews.

Re: Reviews - ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 3GB graphics card reviewed and rated

a single GTX 580 cant handle 1.2v much at all - so why was wizzard on tpu shoving that much through a dual card? seems a bit amateurish tbh.

sweclockers also shoved too many volts through it
