lol - typical piece of rubbish from Antec - With companies like Corsair raising the bar you'd think the likes of Antec would up their game.... Corsair must be laughing when they see these 'jokes'
wow....90 quid for THAT?
Rather pay a few quid more and get a 600T which looks like it cost 4 times more to make...
I'm suprised too. I love Antec stuff but that feels expensive for the bland interior.
quiet but warm inside. I guess it adds something to the market, for people not looking at overclocked systems but wanting solid panels, great sound proofing and a good well known brand.
Why are the 2 x 5.25" bays a negative? You don't need more than two these days.
Yikes. I had to re-read to see if the £90 included a PSU. Thats one ugly case.
In what way? I think it looks quite good actually. Far better than the monstrosities Thermaltake and others create.
The Silverstone TJ08-E costs a similar amount of money (£84) and that doesn't include a PSU either.
Antec have always done a nice line in understated and elegant cases, but their prices have rocketed over the last five years. At £60 - £70 I don't think anyone would have too many complaints about that case, but at £90 it doesn't make much sense.
It's just like the NSK1380: lovely case, really well thought out, but it's a ~ £65 case, not a £90 case. I can only assume that some unfortunately occurence has significantly impacted Antec's production costs, because they've been slipping backwards in the value stakes for years now...
My experience with antec cases is they have often been incredibly fiddly and annoying to work in. Firstly the P182, which seemed to make everything get in the way of each other despite being a pretty large case. The micro fusion has a very awkward hard drive bay, the sonata i cant remember as well, but it certainly wasnt great..
Good little case but way overpriced. It fixes the two main problems I had with the original Solo design but there is nothing to explain the massive price increase.
I really think this is an unfair rating for a case that's excellent for what it is designed for. It's already difficult to find a quiet case for a workstation and giving bad ratings to anything that's not a gaming case with a plexiglass window, 12 fans and grids of holes drilled everywhere does nothing to promote the manufacturers to design something different.
I like my Solo. It's quiet and keeps the dust out. Temps are acceptable and i run an overclocked 2500k in it.
I have an original Solo, which is outfitted for silent running. This one looks like it completely solves the issues of the original and would be much more effective with the same high construction quality!
I like how you can isolate the PSU cooling from the rest of the system, and purely use the 2x120mm fans at the front to provide enough fresh air for the CPU & GPU. A couple of 1,000rpm max fans should be fine.
