Just so I can understand how the bus width and everything works together.. How does 6*8*256=192Gb/s?
6GBPS*8=48Gb/s, I get that, but then multiply that by 256 and you have a much higher number than 192Gb/s.
Bits bytes.
6Gbps = 0.75GB/s
x256 for width = 192 GB/s, or 1536 Gbps

Am i the odd one out? I did it 6000*256/8 :(

Might make more sense. The bus width is 256 bits. 6Gbps x 256 bits wide = 1536 Gbps, or 192 GB/s.
Of course, mathematically equivalent ;)

did Hexus sail too close to the NDA wind? - the article seems to have disappeared...
edit: clearly they did if removed due to Nvidia's request

I'd wager so. The Hexus disclaimer essentially read: We can confirm these specs as they've been leaked by someone else.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 specification confirmed [Update]
Utter maths fail on my part! I'll try better next time sir, I promise!
And oooooOOOOOoooooOOOOO, the article has been removed! Does that mean that it is close to what NVIDIA have got coming up? :P
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 specification confirmed [Update]
It looks like the article has been removed!! Oh??
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 specification confirmed [Update]
Bit of a crappy show by nVidia.

Nee-nor, nee-nor.
Fun police are here.

A bit of a fail show by Nvidia:

I'm sorry, but NVIDIA would always state the highest number they can, they wouldn't put 6.0GBPS, they'd put 192GB/s, if that were the case.. So I really don't think I can believe the slide.
6GBPS in GBPS is 6. :P in GbPS it's 48, but the article has gone and I can't remember whether it was bits or bytes in the table. For stuff like this, just sanity check it, if it's out by an order of magnitude it's probably not correct unless it's a radically different system. But I think it's more a case of speed being confused with bandwidth somewhere along the line.
Edit: And according to the slide posted by CAT above, it's 6.0Gbps so 0.75GB/s. So as above, 6 is just per bit of the available 'width.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 specification confirmed [Update]
Nvidia closing the article sorta gives the figures some definite credibility then? Or wildly out! xD

If it was wildly out, surely they'd just say "this is complete pants" (or something closer to PR-speak).
Hopefully, Hexus running the ex-article won't put them in trouble with NVidia, because I'm looking forward to the time when Hexus get their hands on a 600 series to break, sorry "benchmark". Given that they pulled it when NVidia asked I would assume that no damage has been done, and Hexus and NVidia are still speaking. ;)
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 specification confirmed [Update]
Nvidia are probably secretly happy about rumours circulating as it gains interest in the new cards, but anything which implies confirmation might make them nervous as it might either encourage people to grab a 7000 card or cause the 'Osborne effect' and stop people buying their existing products if it spreads too much.
