I can buy a 7870 locally for £199, or £220 pre overclocked.
What's the cheapest lowest powered nvidia card I could use for physx whilst using 7870 for graphics?

The MSI card is pre-overclocked and Ebuyer is a major retailer. Also, once you hit £220,the HD7950 cards are only a few quid more.
Is this your PSU:

I would run the GTX460 and HD7870 together then.
However,I suppose you could go for a pre-overclocked GTX660 for under £200.
Repeat post.
Yeah I know ebuyer, I've bought from them a lot.
I'm not buying a GTX660 for physx in addition to a 7870! There must be some low power, low end nvidia card I can use *in addition* to the 7870?
I re-edited my post to make it clearer. I meant to say get a GTX660 instead of an HD7870 as a single card solution. However,is your PSU the one in the review?? You can always run the HD7870 and GTX460 together.
Edit!!
I suppose a cheap GT630 would do the trick, but then with the added cost you get a GTX660TI or an HD7950. I would just re-use your GTX460.
Im suprised by the Power of that Card, impresive.
It does look like a good card, might get it over the 660 ti as a good budget option. Is there any chance the bang4buck and whatnot will return at some stage in the future? I miss it.
There's a bang4buck here:

Although of course this is in actual bucks, and not pounds sterling.
The additional 460 for just physx would be a waste of energy and add unnecessary heat to the case and his room. I did a lot of reading up as I wanted to get physx card for my 5850 but it seems a lot of faff for just a few games although it can make substantial difference (currently I'm playing Alice Madness Returns, looks very different without Physx).
I think your conclusion is right though, with the added cost of a GT630 you may as well get a 660ti if physx is a requirement.
Well I got a HD7870 and it keeps crashing to a black screen. It seems it's so common there are many youtube videos of it :/
These are on sale for 110 from plenty of retailers. Trades blows with a 7870. seriously good value and slied I presume best bang for buck.
