The motherboard looks lost in your test rig, more space than parts... I think this is out of the thinking of most users but the Uber mod'ers this would be a dream !

Re: Reviews - Corsair Obsidian Series 900D

I'm not supportive of testing cases with their standard configuration. Most people purchasing a case for their computer will be comfortable enough optimising the airflow in their case so at the very least a second option should be provided to get an idea of how well the case does with an improved setup. My old CM 690 didn't have very good cooling with its stock 2 fans but there were 5 other slots available to put 140mm fans and when I added my own fans to the system I found it to have great cooling capacity.

It was a good review, sad to hear a few features are missing like Corsair Link. Seems strange to have a premium case without all the bells and whistles. It is a tantalising prospect for water cooling though, can fit massive radiators in it without them even being noticed really.

I generally don't like Corsair cases and it's the same story with thisone. They don't style them. Everyone can build a big box and then fit computer hardware in it.

I keep comparing this to products from CaseLabs. Corsair has great engineering but I don't see the quality in the build. In this price range materials, fit and finish should be a high priority. This seems like a $100 case only a lot bigger. Nice looking thing, hope I'm wrong.

yep looked into case labs but price wise to get to uk inc tax is almost double what they cost in the states ..so settled for £300 instead of £900

Yes, this case is the ultimate in showing off, but so what! That's what side panel windows are for! I love it when builders show off their rigs. More for them I say.

Re: Reviews - Corsair Obsidian Series 900D

I don't understand why they had to give it the same name as the old model. Why couldn't they call this one the 901D, 910D, or 900E?

The previous Obsidian tower case was the 800D. This is a whole 100 more :-). Like turning the dial to 11...

Why did you put soundproofing as negative aspect? Well from your graphs I can clealy see that it is quietest of them all under load. Isn't that most important? In Idle every case is Quiet unless you use jet turbines instead of casual fans.

They have simplistic styling. Big box? trust me, its far from it. precision engineered to give you the best performance for your parts.
True, its big, but corsair have their smaller cases too, and some people like the extra space, water cooling, 4 way sli etc.
And when the misses throws you out, you wont be homeless!

its a really great looking case with enough room for the next like 10 years and the cooling in the case is really good but is aimed at people who will water cool everything they can
