How does it compare in these tests to the ever-more-attractive SSD + USB3.0 dock then?

It boggles my mind how much storage they can fit into a tiny space. Not sure I could justify it over my 1TB USB3 HDD, but my goodness would I love to have one of these for the convenience and the speed.

Bearing in mind what most flash drives are used for - namely moving data physically from one location to another, I can either spend £250 on this or £60 on a 2.5" HD and USB3 enclosure which will fit in the brest pocket of my jacket.

Unless you need the speed, old style HD is cheaper and will do the job

Looking at the "File Copy" graph of results I would assume the drive is slower than the Corsair and Kingston for smaller blocks/files and random read/writes. Not faster all around.
