Re: Reviews - Asus GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II OC
Thanks kalniel
I'm reading so many different conflicting posts, no idea whether to buy or not.
The jump from dx9-10 was quite big & seeing many programs refuse to load was really annoying!
There isn't even a confirmed post on the nvidea forums, same question from another guy not wanting to waste £600
cheers

It's not going to be like DX9-DX10 at all, more like DX11 to 11.1 (you noticed that one didn't you? ;)) Only it's going to have even less effect because games makers would have to be daft to mandate windows 8 over windows 7.
Re: Reviews - Asus GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II OC
It's sad that the GTX 780 is also locked down. How about they free the crap out of it and let people OC as much as they want without being limited by the heat? I have the GTX 780 Hydro Copper and it took me forever to break 1200 MHz on GPU clocks even though it never breaches 35 degrees Celsius under full load. Time they do something to unleash the full potential of this card without pushing us to flashing the bios and disabling boost.

As long as said people never then tried to return, sell on or otherwise moan in any media about resulting reliability issues.. sure. Unfortunately for the few responsible people, we live in a world were people are quick to shout about issues and will try returning/selling cards even when they've taken them out of spec.
