I still don't like these Hexus reviews with only the good and bad. Give it a rating out of 10 as well please!!
This is definitely on my radar. I'm just in the market for a mATX case and this one appears to tick all of my boxes. It doesn't bother me that it's close to ATX size as the footprint is better for my home setup than the Lancool.
Shame the review didn't include a 240/280 rad setup seeing as Fractal are pushing the watercooling capabilities of this very strongly.
I'm looking also at the new Maximus VII Gene and possibly a 4790K so any reviews you want to do those 2 will be gratefully received. :mrgreen:
Agreed there, actually that's something I'd like to see more of in reviews, a small feature on watercooling. Yeah you can say what it'll fit but it'd be nice to actually demonstrate it, slap a double depth radiator in there so we can see how much space there is, you don't have to hook it up.Quote:

Far better is for the reviewer to offer his observations and objective and subjective opinions, and let the reader come to his own conclusions on whether or not this case is worth it.

Its very much a modern and cheaper version of the Lian Li 343 - which was a stellar case but too big.

One thing I will say is that if you're going to put a window in so that colour coordinated enthusiasts can gaze lovingly at their computers insides wouldn't it have made sense to put the On/Off, USBs etc on the same side as the window?
Essentially this has to sit on the desktop as to site it inside (for example) an enclosed rack you need to allow extra width to access the input ports and optical slot. Why not put the optical slot at the bottom of the case. The old Sugo SG02 from Silverstone had a flap on the lower part of the case that concealed the input ports, that idea could easily be incorporated to include the power/reset and an optical drive.
A white version would be better for sitting on the desktop.

As to the overall design and layout . . . Meh
Cube cases are not for all, and they are not really small, they are not as tall as a tower case but that doesn't mean they are small.
I'm not sure I like the curved front, on a cube case the curve detracts from the cube shape.
The hard drive cages look a bit awkward, flimsy and half-assed, which is a shame compared to fractal design's normal hard drive cage systems.
The frame and layout seems a bit clunky, lots of potential options for the fan layout but maybe a case of too much so nothing really stands out.
With some more thought and time put into it I think something like this could be a great candidate for a vertical air flow pattern rather than a front to back air flow.
Finally why is it that case manufactures never seem to actually make a cube case that's an actual cube?
Couldn't see where the reviewer mentions this case also fits mini-atx boards but as they are usually compatible I guess so ?
Interesting design. I like it, but like the reviewer wish it'd have been a define case then I'd add this to my list for my next build (thinking of an R4 or an XL R2 for next build depending upon which motherboard/chip route I end up going in the end). Silence is more important to me now as I have to have the desktop (and my server) in my living room due to space requirements in my flat, but I also have a 480GTX to consider that will need decent cooling too.
