Do want. After my imperator died (the best mouse I ever had), I had to get a super duper crappy deathadder (possibly the worst mouse I've ever had), and this new mamba looks closer to the imperator.

I have 8500 on mine, require less than an inch of mousepad space to move it around a 27" screen and still only use less than 40% of the DPI capacity.

If you mean Synapse then yes Synapse is needed to make full use of the product and all functionality, unless you just want to use plug and play Windows drivers.

I have 8500 on mine, require less than an inch of mousepad space to move it around a 27" screen and still only use less than 40% of the DPI capacity.

I can do the entire width of my 5,760 x 1,080 setup in about an inch on the mouse pad. I agree for some people it's a bit crazy but I think it's personal preference on whether you'll enjoy the extra sensitivity or not. Extra DPI means less hand movements which mean less fatigue and you can flick the mouse across multiple screens with ease.

And isn't "stylish" lighting only an updated version of what Roccat have been doing for ages.
Personally the novelty of that is wearing a bit thin, and I would like to see more products with lower costs and without the lighting.
Keyboards I can understand offering a benefit in low light conditions, but not on a mouse where most of the time they are just covered up by your hand.

If i'm not mistaken the Roccat lighting system has significantly fewer LEDs (I believe the KoneXTD/Kone have 4, not 16 like with the Razer Mamba TE) and those LEDs haven't got an entire SDK to allow software developers to get creative with application specific LED profiles. E.g. we could see GTA5 LED profiles that flash blue and red when police are chasing (Logitech demo'd something similar earlier this year). I agree though, LED customisation isn't to everyone's taste. Also I disagree that they get covered up, the side strips are perfectly visible with a hand on top.

Some hands... Some of us have hands that can make a MS Wheel Mouse totally disappear. Personally, I'm one of those people that finds 5kdpi to be optimal, but only in a native situation - I've yet to find a mouse maker that offers a software solution that actually works properly for any length of time. This includes Razer, although I admit that the only one I've used regularly was the DeathAdder Chroma, as it was the only one that fit my hand properly and comfortably for extended periods of time. And yes, the 10kdpi was too sensitive, IMO. Good for twitch gamers, I guess.

I've enjoyed Razer mice in the past, finding them to be very decent performers with useful but not absolutely necessary software due to their mice having onboard memory. Now, all this forced cloud nonsense (wouldn't be this nonsensical if it was optional) and removal of onboard memory that prevents users to plug and play current Razer mice on any new system and instantly have both current and alternate settings stored within the peripheral itself is something that I seriously dislike, which drove me away from Razer and looking into several alternatives, from Roccat, Steelseries and such, but I ended up getting a Logitech G502 and couldn't be happier.

On the DPI matter, I personally don't find those insanely high max DPI settings to be of use for most people, and I especially don't need even half of what the G502 can attain on 2560x1440.

Also, boo on the wireless version having tweakable switch actuation points whereas the wired one doesn't.

WRT the LEDs - I'm usually a fan of such things, where it's done well.
Often it is not, but I still prefer the useful LEDs that remain visible wherever your hand is and serve to advise things like battery status, profile selected, DPI level, etc.

Not creating Synapse account therefore not buying Razor products. They should provide standard driver to download.
I own one stupid mouse too many from these clowns. Failed to research properly.
