Is there a reason manufacturers keep putting analogue video ports on motherboards?

Re: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition

I cant say that having a legacy PCI slot is a bad thing. Would have loved to have been able to keep my PCI soundcard when I upgraded but there isn't really many options for that these days.

Mine doesn't have any, I found myself asking the opposite question. I understand the need for more digital ports, but there isn't really a need to remove analogue ports.

Why do you guys call PCI slots 'analogue' ports?

They are referring to the VGA socket on the I/O, not the PCI slots. Personally I like VGA to be there as it provides a handy testing port if you suspect a problem with the video card and don't have a spare handy.

Re: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition

Such a nice board but it seems really sparse, has no one noticed how the board looks empty. Not complaining it is really nice, it'd look beautiful in a NZXT S340 White or in a White Define R4.
