What is even nicer to see is the subtle yet understandable variety in the three packages we've seen here - For those who want a case full of LEDs, the red bundle offers both a red LED equipped PSU and fan.

Not to have a go here but the 5V lines on each of the PSUs in the test were a bit scary to say the least. It could be the mobo (i.e. either the design of the mobo / it's voltage regulation or it was reporting dodgy values / is faulty)...
Also - when was "lightweight" a good thing for a power supply to be? Q-Tec's are as light as a feather (or is that a box of kinlding soaked in petrol)...
(though in all fairness most if not all of the 12cm fanned PSUs I've seen are actually lighter due to them having less internal space - and they probably don't need heatsinks quite as big either)
Yup, the 5v looks wacko. I assume this was tested from the mobo ? What did it read on a multimeter ? All the PSU's tested on the same mobo i take it ?
Was the ripple amount wasnt checked as there is no mention of it ?
What was the max amp's the other PSU's could supply ?

Like giving QTec an 8 for being so damn cheap, even though it performs piss-poor.
Well looking at it, it did better than the Enermax, and my last Enermax was fine. I suspect there's some sort of voltage monitoring issue that Mr. Hanley should look into if has a chance.

It's the heatsinks inside that usually add a lot of weight to them, however with a big fan like that and a well ventilated housing it's not going to need mammoth sinks.sounds silly, but "drilled for lightness" comes to mind!
