XGI Volari Duo V8 Ultra 256MB

It's hard to recommend XGI's top card with the current driver set. The company needs to bolster image quality before concentrating on all-out performance, really. A promising product that's severly let down by inadequate image quality.

hear'd this through out the duo's development poor drivers and poor image quality and the fact that it still aint sorted is a really bad sign and tbh this card died a long time ago and is being released into a market were it has no place and no real feature to make it stand out ,apart from being 2 gpu's it aint worth talking about

where do you see deltachromes & volaris as having a real stab at the market? really, all i can visualise is the tech being used to further sis & via's onboard graphics solutions. i can't imaging them getting any significant penetration in the oem sector, people are gonna use onboard or massive bulk-buy nvidia cards, unless via & sis can really make these things for almost nothing

    Hi,

I'd like to know why this review was not performed with the Reactor 1.03.52 driver set.

Sad to see the XGI never shaped up better. I would've liked to see a 3d company that could compete on the graphics cards market. As you said in a review, a in specifications great product with a quite poor result... I would like to see drivers getting it atleast one step better before the card falls into history.

I personally thiink they are heading in the right direction - but it takes time to develop a solution. This is there 'first' proper card with any real performance.

Yes but clearly they've neglected IQ, which is something people consider more and more these days.

Hey, David or Kez if you still have the card could you run a test with the latest drivers and compare them? i believe the latest release was december 6th '04. It would be a good sign of any progression.
