I think when someone heard the marketing department call it a "Dog", they got the wrong end of the stick and ran with it. What a horrible waste of plastic.
I think the Razer Turret did a much better job of this.
Logitech K400R should do better....and cheaper

I have a gaming/HTPC in my lounge room and normally I use a Logitech K830 for run of the mill use (internet, et cetera).
When I want to do some gaming, I have a piece of wood with the largest Razor Goliath mouse pad I could find (900mmx400mmx3mm - cut the length down a little to fit) covering it. Underneath, I raided a memory foam cushion off a old lap tray. This works perfectly with my Logitech G700s mouse and G910 keyboard (it will even support a 10" tablet on the keyboard. On a single seat, it is long enough to be supported be the arms on the lounge chair and I can easily use it with or without a wrist support and the mouse can be used either side. Even on the big couch, because it is long enough, all I do is put some cushions on either side to support it when needed, but I prefer using it when seated in a single lounge chair (keeps my forearms at a better height).
I mounted (with epoxy) a 4 port USB 3 hub onto it, just so I can plug everything in and have a couple of Velcro cable ties screwed onto it to keep all the cords neat.
Total cost is for the 1/2" thick piece of wood, a strip of rubber to cover the sides and a long, flat USB 3 cable (about 10 feet I think, and it is less of a tripping hazard as it sits flat under a mat), as I had the other parts lying around anyway.
I have been asked quite a few times where I bought it and people are surprised to find out that I made it.
Definitely cheaper, and the best thing is I can use any set-up of keyboard and mouse I like, plus plug in my headphones (when needed to keep the noise down), and charge my tablet all at the same time.
Looks like the laptop would heat up quite a bit though. Not too different from a pillow (blocks bottom vents and traps the heat).Quote:

For a mouse/keyboard, a larger foldable breakfast table worked for me okay-ish. Not great, so there is a room for an accessory like this, but it has to be pretty darn good for me to consider it.
