Tarinder - When you say "...input latency of just 10.2ms, which is well above average for monitors of this type.", would I be correct in assuming this means better than average (i.e. lower), rather than the 10.2ms being higher than average?
This ticks all the right boxes for me but I think I'll wait for the prices to drop. Oh, and I get faster GPU's
Been waiting for this, but at that price.. The wait continues.
Does anyone know if this uses an external power-brick like its TN predecessor?
Gheestar,
Yup, it is better than the average for this type of monitor.
MrJim,
Yes, it has an external (though nicely-designed) brick.

Cant swallow that price, I'm going to wait as well.
What a shame.
Shame about the price, I had wanted this but now I don't.

I took the plunge and went for the TN panel a year ago, and to be honest it was one of the best purchases ever. Before I had a 24" IPS Dell monitor, so it wasn't like I have always used TN panels. For my purposes (computer programming, general usage and gaming) I haven't found the monitor limiting apart from in very particular circumstances. I.e. for some reason I working on something on the floor and looking up at the monitor. But then the stand is good enough to easily adjust the angle.
Can't argue that putting an IPS panel in the monitor isn't a good thing though! But I thought the TN panels generally had a better response rate, and was therefore better for hardcore gamers. Is this IPS panel good enough to over come the problems?
Tarinder Nice review, shame there is no Video or Pictures to compare and see it in action, maybe this is something Hexus can do in the future by having more video reviews.
One question did you send me the Monitor via DHL or Royalmail coz I'm abit picky I don't want royalmail touching this beauty.
Excellent review ! And yes, if its not for the price, this is one of the best monitors.
How does this compare the the Asus MG279Q?
I have an Asus VG278HE 27" 1920x1080 TN 144Hz paired with gtx 770 and i also use Lightboost!its quite good, and though i really like this screen and want one, it will cost me more than £1000 pounds including a GPU to power it. so its no go for me unless they drop to a reasonable price! Who buys these anyway. Its not like your average kid gamer will get their parents to buy one. Hey mum i want a pc monitor its only 700£
