I was expecting way way better. I guess the cards are already pushed to the max, at this point you're paying for features - an extra 50mhz here and there is bugger all.

No, it's a personal preference thing. The problem is the FTW cards carry a hefty premium (over the already in place EVGA premium). EVGA cards are recommended because of the customer service and warranty is raved about, but I don't see the point in the FTW card, it isn't any better than the others. Maybe it keeps a degree or 2 cooler, is a decibel or 2 quieter..but that's nothing in the real world.
