Why no Noctua's in these tests?
Jon
I'd appreciate seeing one of the cheaper coolers (like one of the arctic ones). Arctic offered good value last time they were on the hexus bench (2.5 years ago), it'd be nice to see if they've held up their quality
Totally agree Noctua d14 is about the same price. Air cooled should be compared to just air cooled anyway. Leave the liquid cooled to compare to each other , seems more logical in my book. Also on any comparison items should be based on similar price range as well , seen on some sites products compared where one or two is twice the cost of item being reviewed , totally wrong.
I like the look of this cooler, black and no LEDs.
But I need one for Threadripper.
Anyone have good suggestions in the same price range?
Silence being the most important for me (not overclocking a lot).
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
I think the criticism of the look of Noctua fans is a bit unfair as a reason not to buy the product.
Given the ability to replace them not just with 3rd party but the Noctua Chromax series, which are far more pleasing aesthetically.
If you want the Noctua performance with nicer aesthetics it will cost more.
I would like to see them bundle coolers with the Chromax fans.
I suspect that the test platform has been updated, and not all coolers have yet been tested.
New releases I expect tend to be sooner than old ones.
With only one exception all the coolers in that list have been released this year.
Can we have some detail around fitting one of these ? I had the v2 version of this, which was a great cooler, but a royal pain to fit.
(my solution was to do it out of the case upside down on a pillow....)
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
Do it upside down on a pillow

Expecting it on Thursday, I see they rotated the logo for horizontal builds as this was what everyone seemed to be doing on the Pro 3. To be honest, a vertical mount gives slightly better temperatures (considering you don't put a GPU in the first PCI-e slot or simply use a riser cable) but a horizontal mount has the option to cool down your VRM heatsink a bit better, so no issues there. Apart from the obvious memory clearance issues which I blame on DDR manufacturers that put giant heatsinks (srsly this has to stop!), I expect a lot from this cooler.
