Interesting thought. There are no Quadro drivers in Linux, there are just Linux drivers which work across the entire range.
Still, a lot of those benchmarks weren't graphics related, but benchmarks like zipping large numbers of small files I would expect Linux to win from faster OS calls, better filesystems and caching than Windows. I wonder if they have the same benchmarks for a quad core setup, usually you only get Windows 10 benchies on Phoronix for gaming to show how badly the porting layer hurts.
Re: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX
Remember Intel has its own Linux distro,so I would suspect Intel is also affected. I wonder how the 28 core on X599 is going to scale,as the 18 core SKL-X part also scales poorly over the 10 core model too if you check the reviews in this thread:

Don't understand all that pandering to the gaming idiots.
Who the hell is dumb enough to spend close 20 2 grand on a 32 core CPU to play games? Oh, yeah, the dumb gamer kiddos, sure. So why keep yapping about supposed gaming performance deficiencies when "its Achilles' heel for, say, gaming, where titles just don't know what to do with 64 threads" is clearly software limitations anyway and not related to the Threadripper 2 per se?
If anything the only time this thing will be used for gaming is when a video editor or DI artist or engineer is waiting for some video/image rendering or enterprise level number crunching to complete in the background and so decides to game in the foreground to kill time.
Else all these writers are just playing by the dirty Intel playbook as evidenced by such trite narratives about gaming.
