that's quite a decent increase in performance, an 1650 seems to have about 150% of the performance of a 1050 or about 185% of a 950

Re: GeForce GTX 1650 vs GTX 1050 vs GTX 950

Problem is they're charging a 45% mark up in cost (cheapest 1650 @ £138, va 1050 @ £95, quick google search), for a 45% mark up in performance. No increase in bang per buck for almost 3 years.

Additionally, unless power consumption is a major factor for you, you can get an RX 570, which offers 20% more performance than the GTX1650 for £110 (£28 less) new, from CCL. So lets compare:

    Card Performance Price
    1650 100% 100% (baseline)
    RX570 119% 80%

Ah, but wasn't the 1050 similarly expensive on release, and many only have 2GB of vram? So whilst the 1650 is overpriced, the rip-off is actually consistent.

Erm 1050 came out in 2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_10_series so looking at a sales graph that started in 2018 isn't that great. According to Hexus https://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/98836-evga-geforce-gtx-1050-sc-gaming/ MSRP was £115 for the 1050 at launch.
