Absolutely ridiculous. That 60mm fan is just dumb. Do they not do their own in-house testing beforehand ?

That aside, this is just another product that comes with an idiot/Razer/Apple tax, whatever your preferred term is. You pay for the fluff.

I'm genuinely surprised by the 60mm blower. My asus motherboard has pretty good fan curves out the box, and with plenty of opportunity to tweak them - it's a very odd decision to have a top-end product let down like that. I also wonder how much difference it'll make to VRM temps, given the plastic shrouding around it.

Wonder if it's possible to hack the 1.8" display to run as a monitor in windows?

Im not sure if its because of my aggressive main fan profiles or that its covered with ram and competing with gpu fan noise but i cannot hear the small 60mm fan?

I'd like it if they specified a MTBF. I can't find one for my cooler which is around 5 years old. Last thing I need is a pump failure and a cooked CPU.

I've had a series of high end air coolers (still rocking a Prolimatech Megahalems on my old i7 860 and it's quiet as a mouse and has been overclocked for many years solid now), and if I were to consider water cooling, it'd be a proper custom loop setup. Not £200+ for this utter garbage.

It depends what you're looking for. For me, this is daft. There are good reasons to get a watercooler and an AIO system. For some people who want branding and an aesthetically pleasing system for whatever reason, this works well.

Myself, I want an effective system which is long lasting and I don't care about bling.

The lower demand for this kind of bling product means that the price must go up even higher.

I wouldn't call it garbage but it's definitely not something I'd pay extra for.

I'm interested in VRM temps with/without the pump 60mm fan running. If that fan is controlled, there may be a balance to be struck if there is a cooling benefit. Writing it off as 'offering negligible gains in cooling performance' without corresponding testing is just poor IMO...

Small fans on backside of my Icydock ssd backplane are more noisy. I run it average of 40% in a dynamic profile and find it hardly audible with all other fans disabled. (i never hear it tbh)

If you have an asus mobo then the fan control software (DIP5) for it is the same for the water cooler not separate. Just like if you have a rog product (gpu or mobo) that has an LCD display livedash shares with that too. Not really a deal breaker for myself.

The aesthetics and lighting along with the oled are subtle which is nice. I think if a buyer intended for their pc to look like a glorified xmas tree theyd pick an AIO with RGB fans?

Had the Corsair H110i v2 before this on the threadripper (intel 5960x 8c/16t before that) and just found that on 100% load on the larger chip it was just struggling to maintain temps below 60c during our last summer in oceania.

Personally have done all the custom loop malarkey and enjoyed it along with the time and patience that went along with it. Im now time poor and utilize my pc for work (design/ rendering). I have come to like closed AIO setups where glycol additives dont require any fill maintenance and leaks aren't even anything to bat an eyelid at considering the press crimped construction.


(as in been there done that)Old mountain mods case with a dual xeon (SR-2) and 4 gpus 2/2 alternate watercooled on separate loop to cpus and mobo block. Case had 3x 480mm rads and two 240mm rads, 20x 3000rpm ultra kaze (probably deafening for the snowflake generation) ... Over that stuff now. Bit iffed about price or ryujin too but works better than last cooler. Il go functionality over aesthetics and noise any day

I have the same cooler, fantastic performance and very quiet.

The asus cooler is over-priced, average performance and noisy, never a good combination

This is a bit silly considering outward flow of the rad is just hitting the ceiling of the case that has very little venting on the top (be quiet! Dark Base 700). Ive course an air cooler pointed Front>back would work better just based on volume and unrestricted airflow.

For a liquid cooler both front and rear fans should be pulling air inward and rad should have unrestricted flow out.

If i take the case i have right now and cover 240mm of the top 360mm mesh with a metal plate which is less than an inch away from rad exhaust then ive course im going to get crap results. Same as whats going on in this review...

Considering the corsair H150i utilizes lower static pressure fans vs the ryujins noctuas which are higher flow and static pressure which not meant for much more resistance vs the radiator to be most efficient, your probably creating even worse cavitation with extra pressure vs H150i fans with the be quiet! case worsening performance for the better performance...

Not sure why an experienced pc enthusiast would set a cooler that required allot more unrestricted flow than a BASE 700 can provide?

This thing actually has some decent function, but poor implementation and focussing more on how it looks rather than making any of it work well has wasted any of the potential it had.
