Re: Corsair RM Series RM850 (850W)

I have an RM-750X which is superb. I got it on offer (given there are many decent PSUs available at each given output, I'd always go for one which is well discounted).

Looking inside, I would suspect these pictures are either marketing pictures or a cherry picked model was supplied as mine has a lot of hot snot in it and it's not very delicately placed. Not a problem unless you really care about white dribble on your secondary filtering caps.

The voltage regulation I get with it is utterly superb. I can't remember what the exact figures were but I remember that I've never had a PSU with such tight tolerances and I was actually amazed at how precise it was.

I would always ensure you get a decent PSU as it's one of those things which can go very wrong and the end result can be catastrophic. I ran my last one for 9 years before giving it away due to the hunger of a Vega64.

Re: Corsair RM Series RM850 (850W)

I've been running my RM850i at frequent 650-700W loads at high temps for 4 years now and it's an amazing PSU. The PSU is the last thing anyone should be skimping on, always buy the absolute best you can afford. These tend to be mostly Seasonic and Corsair.
