    Is the IOPs in the table a typo or does the barracuda have 180 and the Firecuda have 620,000 ?

    That was indeed a typo, 180K is the correct amount. Thanks for pointing it out - 180 to 620,000 would have been one heck of a gap.

    Will they really drop to a sensible price .. seems a bad way to start , garner a rep as wildly expensive? I checked and chinese SSD can be had for 1/3 the price. raid5 for safety or 3x raid0 for 3tb fast SATA . Will chek price in 3 months, maybe .

    Yeah, but when you can get the Corsair MP510 for half the price their pricing makes no sense. You have to wonder if it's just so they can slash the RRP in a month and have it show as a sale or some such.
