    Oh good gawd......

OK, how do I get these companies to hire me as their RGB consultant, so they can finally put out some kit that doesn't look hideous?

outside of ultra-fast SSD storage is there any advantage at the present for PCIe4 vs 3, or is it purely future-proofing/one-upmanship

Futureproofing more than anything. There's a fractional gain in GPU performance running at 4.0 over 3.0, but it's a matter of 2-3% at most, usually less.

You also get the added benefit of requiring half the number of lanes to get the same bandwidth. Something that the AM4 platforms will benefit from.

Just a note, the gooseberry benchmark says that a higher time is better which I assume to be a mistake.

Someone like me who does far more with their PC than just ^that^...

Also, 'fragging' specifically means the deliberate killing of a soldier on your own side... typically an ineffective unit commander, and done with a fragmentation grenade. It is impossible to frag the enemy.
