Did you happen to check for lag on Dolby Digital Live? I noticed on my Soundblaster X that it's unusable as it introduces a noticeable lag for the encoding (clearly not hardware accelerated).

I am considering this after my experience with the SXFI Amp.

The SXFI Amp uses the AK4377ECB DAC, the G6 uses the Cirrus Logic CS43131 and the X3 uses the AK4458VN at least in the first revisions.

Still hard to beat my Titanium HD.

Disagree. At this price you're getting into proper audio equipment territory, in which case pass through from on board is all you need.
