Re: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X
Underclock the RAM to stock 3070 speeds and see how it compares, the 3070Ti seems like an even bigger waste of time than the 3080Ti vs the 3080...
Re: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X
Same performance as a stock 3070 more or less but higher power consumption. No thanks!!

It is getting to the point where I am not even interested in video card reviews, because you can't actually buy them. I get that this is a hardware review site and you need to review these cards, but it all seems kind of pointless until enough GPUs can be produced to where scalping isn't profitable.

Nah, keep it. I was just disappointed it wasn't the first post. :)

The Unicorn has been rather busy recently - I will tell it to stop trotting and start running quicker!
Re: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X
Do AIB not provide RRP anymore?
I wonder what is the expected RRP of this card? I know there is basically no stock at RRP but surely as its compared with the FE it must give a rough RRP to compete with it? Howelse can you say its decent compared to FE if both happen to come in stock and the MSRP or whatever is actually £300 more for MSI card.
Hard to review these cards but seems like another waste and at RRP not worth it compared to buying the 3070 or paying a little more again for the 3080.

It was either GN or Linus on one of his WAN shows that explained that basically MSRP completely screws the AIBs for margin, if they meet MSRP then they will be practically making no profit on the cards.
I always expect AIB cards to be £100-150 more expensive than a reference model but Nvidias FEs are neither reference model nor are they in anyway representable as a "standard expectation" of the 30 series. But whether it be shortage, pandemic or a variety of other matters, it seems this range of cards has AIBs setting a price.

Nvidia did this before with Fermi. They could have eaten the cost, but instead expected the AIB partners to do it. Its why XFX who was only Nvidia, decided to move to making ATI/AMD GPUs.

I have zero interest in GPU reviews with the scalp world we live in currently. Here's more amazing hardware you can't have!
