I used to get excited at new hardware launches...now i just feel disgusted, i wonder if there's a support group i can attend.

Re: Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle 8G

I might read the performance metrics normally, but as is I just skimmed the intro/conclusion looking for any clues about availability at MSRP. I don't see any. It almost seems like a "why bother?" launch, although I suppose if they can salvage more dies with the 6600 Non-XT, that helps the supply situation somewhat.

In the meantime I've been expanding my non-gaming hobbies. My RX 480 could in theory last quite a few more years as my time spent gaming, and my care for the latest in graphics, decreases.

Re: Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle 8G

With so many people sitting on older GPUs and this specifically being launched at the bottom of the stack of current gen GPUs it seems a shame to only test it against mostly higher end new cards.

Probably one for Cat's review thread, but a '1080p card' retrospective would be good to understand what you get in 2021 against the last couple of generations.
