This has definitely made me interested in trying out Linux. Can't wait for the review.
www.linspire.com
and yes you are getting out of touch
Seems like a fairly straight up guy and I like the idea of a unified consistent Linux Desktop. I look forward to the Linspire review.
I get, step by step, closer to trying it

Every motherboard has atleast 1 FoxConn patented product on it.
If you download the Linspire ISO you can boot off it to see if it works in your PCOriginally Posted by Allen
Boot from the CD? I might do that. Anyone have any experience as to how these work? Will it affect any data on the hard drive, or does it only store things in the RAM? Will it find out what hardware I have, if so, how long does it take, and how can it store settings if it doesn't write to the HDD?Originally Posted by David
I really wanna learn Linux, but it's a big hassle installing a full OS, and I dunno about these boot CD's either. Cheers!
Didn't know that. It must be quite the money maker for FoxConn.Originally Posted by David
Allen,
Sorry, only just saw your posting.
Very mysterious.
I've searched Linspire's site and the net generally and can't find a place to get it.
I've emailed various people at Linspire and hope to be able to find you an answer.
I was at the launch event and wrote the initial HEXUS news story, and so am a bit concerned that this CD-run-only version appears to have been quietly pulled.
Unless that, is me an a lot of other people have firmly grasped the wrong end of the stick with both hands concerning the availability of such a download.
