DRM investigation article
DRM in games does seem to be one of the hot topics of gaming today and awareness seems to be coming to a peak recently.
But whenever it's discussed there seems to be almost a witch-hunts worth of statements thrown around about what it is and how harmful it is etc. however no-one seems to have any evidence to back up such statements.
This suggestion might go against Hexus' usual punchy, opinionated style, but what we really need is a fully objective, analytical investigation to discover just what DRM schemes actually do to your computer and whether they are actually responsible for all the evils associated with them. Hexus have the resources to come up with proper scientific investigation and test systems in a controlled manner to be able to answer this question authoritatively, and such an article could become a useful tool to engage in feedback with the manufacturers of games using DRM and with consumers needing a straight answer.
