    http://forums.hexus.net/online.php

    I just noticed a "view who's online" button at the bottom of the page, so I thought I'd click it to see where it went. Turns out I don't have the privileges to view the page. Am I supposed to be able to see the button, and if so, am I supposed to be able to see what's there?

    Look like this btw (in the currently active users section) -

    ajbrun, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

    1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
    2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

    Re: http://forums.hexus.net/online.php

    Look right a touch, that's who's online... but i guess that page is just an admin style list of who is online.

    My best guess as to why its blocked is probably because there is a list of people's IP address's next to names on that version.

    Yeah, you don't have permission to access that page.

    I guess the template shouldn't really show you that link.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    What does it show out of curiosity? Was tigerboyce right, or is it top top secret?

    You dont have assess to it because it would slow down the database afaik
    Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

    Re: http://forums.hexus.net/online.php

    i dont see why were not allowed to use it, admins see ip's, normal members see a list of who's online.

    depending on the permissions set you can see where people are looking, you cant see what posts people are viewing if you dont have permissions to look at that post yourself.

    Re: http://forums.hexus.net/online.php

    Well, it's setup the way it is and always has been. There's no benefit to having it except for admins, and probably ads to overhead, so we'll keep it the way it is.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    That doesn't show by default and only shows on admin accounts. It can still be shown (AVForums has it on, and they got alot of people on all the time)
