    Forums link on front page

Not sure if anyone else is bugged by this or not, but I would prefer the 'Forums' link at the top of the Hexus front page to open in the same window rather than a new window.

If people want it in a new window then they can right-click and do 'open link in new window', but people who want it in the same window have no choice!

It would also keep the behaviour consistent with most (if not all) of the other links at the top of the page.

    cheers,
    dave

Thanks for the feedback but the link for forums has been like that for years now as people preferred to go to the main site and have the forums open in another window so they can browse both. If there is an overwhelming response in favour of changing it then I can but otherwise it will remain the same. I could possibly put a poll on the front page of the site to ask for preferences on the issue, I'll let David decide

I'm with Az on this one, I read the main pages and have the forums open in the background, I personally like everything opening in new windows.

Exactly - everyone has a personal preference.

My point was that people who don't want it in a new window currently don't have any choice, whereas if it opened in the same window then you have the choice to open it in a new window if you want!

    cheers,
    dave

I've allways wondered why have it open in a new window, I'd be for having it changed but useful to know the Shift thing.

For me the link at the top of the page opens in a new window and the one on the side doesn't. I thought they made it that way on purpose but maybe not ?

Hadn't noticed that, it was supposed to open in a new window. I'll leave it as it is at the moment, it should effectively end this discussion
