forums mess up when i hit "back" button.

    Hi.

Just noticed today that the forums get really messed up when i hit the "back" button. Some code appears at the top of the screen, i can see the banner ok, but the forum titles/thread titles are in kinda ftp:// type thing.

Dont know if its just me!?

We moved the forums to a new super server today - you should have all noticed the huge speed increase.

The top junk is the forums CSS style sheet and the badly formatted snaps are because the style sheet isn't loading correctly.

Hmm.. can anyone else or has anyone else had this issue?

CSS looks fine and it's an inline style (shudder) so I can't see why a cached version would cause any problems.

For some unknown reason the style sheet is stopped and IE then decides to render it on-screen from that point on.

Best thing you could do is View Source and paste it up here for us to see or email az@hexus.org or shorty (can't remember his email )

I can't see why IE would load part of the style sheet and then fail for the rest, it should be all or nothing. I have had problems with IE and comments in CSS before but nothing like this

I put the code for a working forum, and then the knackered forum in a .zip (24kb approx)

    http://www.streetster.co.uk/uploads/...s4blockers.zip

Could this problem be caused by a virus?

Almost certainly not a virus. The broken one is missing the <style> declartion tag as well all the other initial tags such as <html> and <head>. I'm no expert on vBulletin but if the inital tags are loaded via an include my guess is that the include is failing for some reason. Shorty will be better able to clarify what might be going on.

It might also be down to MIME types or the DOCTYPE declaration but I doubt it

The style CSS is pulled from the database per page generation. What Im seeing here is the header template not loading correctly and declaring (as Az said) the necessary parameters to use the stylevars[].

Il take a look at it. It's just strange that no-one else can repeat this error and it's definitely not a bug I've tracked over at VB.

Il investigate later on when Im home (im @ work right).
