    hexus hotpot

Would it be possible for a subforum in hexus hotpot relating to the recipes that deck puts up? bit like a feedback thingy, were people can rate the recipe that they used, and were they can suggest their own ways of cooking the meal.... 'i didnt have that, so i used this instead' Scottyman has done it in the butterflied leg of lamb, added his own variation.

    What do ya think?

Its a nice idea but I think that the hotpot has enough subs at the moment.

I know that the cookbook subs are read only, we wanted to do them like that to avoid members having to dredge through loads of discussion just to get to a recipe, (plus avoid people putting either the same or similar recipes up OR putting up recipes that'd kill anyone who tried them... )

I think that the simple structure that we have now, ie a cookery forum then a sub forum with loads of recipes in which is easy to navigate is all that we need given the voume of traffic the forums currently gets. That isn't to say that in the future, should things get busier, that a sub forum wouldn't be on the cards.

    I've just realised..

When we set the Hotpot up, the cookery book sections were set up as read only but the forum there are actually IN is postable for members.

Now, you'll have to forgive me for forgetting, (I had just done a couple of strawpedoes) but if you click on the Cookery Book Forum, below all the links to the sub-forums for each type of dish, there is an area there. This was originally put in for the exact reason you wanted... to discuss the recipes in the cookbook.

Sorry about that, was a tad worse for wear... prolly cos of the marathon dance mat/electrocution session we'd been having.

how about using "rate this thread", at the top of every thread on the forums? simple yet effective...

Oh you always have to go and come out with something terribly sensible that anyone with half a brain would've thought of, now don't you?

(but yeah... the rate the thread function is even easier...)
