Google malware warning for the forums

Is this spam post related or is google over reacting?

    (when browsing with Chrome)

    Thread merge needed...

    http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-sugges...dangerous.html
    http://forums.hexus.net/general-disc...g-malware.html

and possibly http://forums.hexus.net/general-disc...ty-2010-a.html though that's kaspersky not chrome issuing the warning

For what it's worth I'm getting the same warning (for the same IP) for www.honestjohn.co.uk too but not any of my other frequently visited sites (even 4chan is safe apparently - not that I visit that site often but it was the first thing that popped into my mind as a potential malware vector)

It's possible - but more likely the false positive from Kaspersky as advised here.

Re: Google malware warning for the forums

I got a virus/malware warning earlier this morning when opening a thread in IE (I didn't want to lose my unread threads). I didn't note down what the virus/malware was. This was quickly followed by the information bar saying the forum wanted to install 'RealPlayer'... and presumably not the genuine one (if it's still around).

Re: Hexus forums are apparenltly dangerous

I've found the issue. Shouldn't be getting the report any more. It was an ad issue rather than the site itself, so I'm doing some further work in that area now
