Classified forum rule clarification

Can I ask what the recent change in legislation was?

• No mobile phones or car audio for sale. This is to prevent possible legal problems with this kind of sales due to recent changes in the law.

And is it still a recent change? I can't remember when this was added as a rule, I seem to think it's been there as long as I've been on the forums.

This cam up in a discussion with another forum member and I was just curious. It's the car audio part that interests me the most.

ianal, but it's possibly due to clarification about facilitating the sale of stolen goods, among which mobile phones and car stereos have a very high chance of belonging.

It's been there for a long time

The only suggestion was to remove the "recent change" part of the statement, I'm not asking for the rule to be removed.

You don't need to explain that surely? Just have it as being the rule that No mobiles or Car audio equip to be listed surely?

Either people will read the rules and follow them, or they won't. You don't need to justify them, merely uphold them surely?

Simply change to "This is to prevent potential legal complications" with the change in law being redundant.
