Forum upgrade today/tomorrow
No, not to Vb4. Not yet anyway.
It's time to make the forums UTF-8 compatible so all the severs are speaking the same charset. So today I'm doing some server upgrades and then later today, or tomorrow, I'm taking the forum down to upgrade the database to UTF-8.
Huzzah.
Aside from some downtime, nothing should change functionally.

Fab - that'll sort the random character encoding we're seeing then :)
Re: Forum upgrade today/tomorrow
Yes it will, as well as give me a chance to make sure the SQL server is running optimally.
Re: Forum upgrade today/tomorrow
Which is always good to do.
Forum Healthcheck ahoy!

Won't somebody please think of the posters?!
Re: Forum upgrade today/tomorrow
UTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFSS always reminds me of the sound people make when trying to make things UTF-8 compliant.
Good luck :)

I don't know, quite possibly. The updated cache engine has a bug in it (typical) so something might have nobbled his profile. I'll see if I can fix it when I'm done :)

Yes, that was me reinstalling the the mysql server.
Now, the actual forum maintenance can begin. Well... in half an hour or so.
