I said it before and i will say again, can we please please please have a chatbox if not chatbox maybe chat area it could be a faster way of doing things instead of threads

Forums are for medium/long term communication. The chatbox would be for irc style/short term communication.
I think it's a good idea... It would be better if it was linked to the irc channel.

If you post a thread with a question, and 20 people are online who can answer it, it will be answered within a minute or two.

Chatbox wouldn't achieve anything new over that.

If you want to post about how you just got back from the shops and cooked some baked beans, then yeah a chatbox is probably more suitable. But then the subject matter is pointless, so who cares?

It would be for random banter (so yes baked beans) and if you don't care you could switch it off

I get that, but you risk reducing forum activity.

I vote No. Ive seen them before and hate them, just people talking rubbish most of the time and reduces constructive activity on the board. You have facebook / msn for talking crap - keep it there, not here.
