Now, this will probably make no difference whatsoever, but the way in which database traffic is distributed is a little more sensible now, without sacrificing robustness.
This should improve ad server and forum database performance.

faster, not quite there but about 5 times faster loading pages, 3-4 times faster than this and it will be on par with a few other forums i frequent, ones got about 50x the traffic of hexus and is fast as hell,
if you can get it as fast as this site http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums considering how much more busy it is than hexus you will be on a winner

i know, its as fast as my clan site, (my own rack server in londons docklands) and thats got about 30 people a day and about 10 posts with most trawl bots banned from looking!

Hmmm, we've got the hardware. But we might struggle to get as fast as that site, seeing as it looks like we have more plugins installed.
That said I'm not afraid to nuke/fix any that slow things down. If there's a good profiler for vbulletin let me know. Otherwise I might write one.
