Lightbulb Consolidation of "software sticky" thread

How about taking all the decent contributions in "Software Sticky" thread and reposting as a single, locked post?

If someone has an addition for the list then they PM one of the forum admins.

Then it can be neatly categorized into Linux/Windows and then into type.
By all means keep the submitter's names tagged against each one, so we know who to thank (or blame ).

Sticky threads that aren't locked tend to get too many inappropriate posts, and once it gets beyond 1 page new people are less likely to read it all.

Az's User Reputation Guidelines post is a perfect example of what it should be like - any amendments that need to happen are done by him alone, on receiving a PM.

There are a few exceptions where an sticky thread might want to remain open, such as "post your system mod pics" and "post your network" - people can just reply and tack on their submissions - those interested in this will most likely be subscribed I would guess.
But users should maybe dissuaded from posting comments on others' posts within these threads, maybe?
