ok, I know I'm on the Hexus forums so why does most forums say "Hexus..." before them?

I think this is a totally pointless exercise, it makes it look like your stuck up.

It also makes my head hurt, why cant I just go into "Case World" ? instead of "Hexus Case World"?

i think its for continuity for the whole forum, seeing as they only did this a couple of weeks ago..
some of the forums had the 'Hexus...' bit ie 'Hexus Hotpot', however some didnt, ie 'Bargain Hunt'...

i fail to see the problem with it really makes it look neater if anything...

We have a brand and carrying this brand throughout all makes it more complete.

Yes it did look strange to begin with but it is so much slicker now

That's the first time I've heard of a five letter word causing someone's head to hurt. Perhaps you should contact the British Medical Association, I'm sure they'd be interested.

The reason all the forums are prefixed by HEXUS is that when search engines such as Google find links within forums then the link used to come back as Case World. As a user searching Google results they then won't realise it is a forum from HEXUS unless they look at the link. Therefore it is used to ensure that search results are more informative and targetted and therefore improve the user experience. If improving the user experience makes us stuck up then sign me up for finishing school and order me a butler.....

I've just done a few googles on case mods etc and no hexus results came up on the first couple of pages anyway.

But there are a few other forums I haunt on a regular basis and they dont have their brand name in front of their forum names.

I still it pointless, I suppose I will have to put up with it.

We only did it recently. It does take time for Google bots to pick up on things.

There's always one!!!!! Nothing wrong in letting people know where they are.IF one of my mates had his own chippyand he was called Bob so he called it Bob's chippy,so should i moan on at him for calling it that and tell him to take it off his flyers as it may give some people a headache.Good job I'm not sitting next to you cos you'd have a headache off another 5 letter word....THUMP. No the forums are not changing, the style might when we launch a new site design but we have grown these forums in a clean and managible way and have no reason currently to revoke or remove posts/post counts

how odd, I don't even notice the Hexus labels anymore, perhaps mr_roll needs to use the site a bit more and just get used to it?

CrapshoT - That is a totally different situation, that is one thing, and this is a set of forums mostly each name has "hexus" before it, i just see it pointless.

Closed as thread is going nowhere. The forums are not going to change name simply because one person can't be bothered to read the word HEXUS or ignore it.
